Updated Site Ranking Performance

Site Ranking Performance Redesign

Today we’ve just released a newly-redesigned Site Ranking Performance page. Most of the data you rely on is staying exactly the same, but it’s not laid out in a much more easier-to-read way.

Now you can easily see how many keywords are ranking in the top 50 and top 10. But most importantly, we’ve added a new metric called Organic Visibility. This metric gives you a single number to track how your keywords are doing.

Organic Visibility is calculated by giving each keyword a number of points depending on their organic ranking position, and then taking the sum of all of these points. The number of points given to each keyword is largely tied to the expected click-through-rate each ranking position will have. So a keyword ranking at position 1 will receive dramatically more than position 2, which again will be dramatically more than position 3, but the difference between positions 15 and 25 will be very small.

This number is shown at the top of the page, and is also a line graph overlaid on top of the familiar stacked bar graph in ranking trend chart. The red smoothed line graph is organic visibility.

This makes it much easier to quickly measure the performance of a group of keywords.
