Dragon Metrics was designed to work well on any size device right inside the web browser. There’s no app to download, just point your browser to https://app.dragonmetrics.com and you’re all set.

Do you provide SEO service? Can you recommend a good SEO agency?Top

While Dragon Metrics is made by a team of SEO experts, we’re a software company. We concentrate our expertise on making the best SEO tools out there, and therefore do not offer any SEO consulting services.

Do you offer a discount for annual payment?Top

Absolutely. Annual subscriptions receive a discount equivalent to 2 months free. Visit our pricing page to learn more.

Which payment methods are accepted?Top

We accept Credit Card, PayPal, and Bank Transfer.

Do you offer any packages larger than Enterprise?Top

While our pricing page only displays plans tracking up to 10,000 keywords, we have some users tracking almost 1 million keywords. Plans above the Enterprise package come with significant quantity discounts. Contact us for a custom quote just for you.

How do I sign up for a paid subscription?Top

If you haven’t already, sign up for a free trial account. Once you’re inside the app, there will be a link to subscribe at the top of every page.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my account at any time?Top

Accounts may be upgraded at any time. We’ll apply a pro-rated credit for any unused time remaining in the current term towards your new plan.

Accounts may also be downgraded at any time, however, no refunds are available for unused time remaining in the current term. Therefore, we recommend waiting until the end of the term (either end of month or end of year, depending on the plan chosen) before downgrading.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?Top

No. While discounts are available for annual payment, you may pay month-to-month and cancel at any time.

Do you offer your tools independently? I’m only interested in keyword tracking.Top

To bring the most value to our users, plans include all features. No discount are available if you are only interested in certain features. However, you’ll typically find our prices per keyword are still extremely competitive with keyword tracking-only tools.

Plan Features

How many keywords can I track?Top

Each plan comes with a different number of included keywords. The Starter plan comes with 500, while the Enterprise plan comes with 10,000. If you need more than 10,000 keywords, heavy discounts are available – please contact us. We have some users tracking almost 1,000,000 keywords.

Furthermore, all plans have access to our Baidu Research tools. This tool is not limited by number of keywords tracked, so in essence, you are given immediate access to millions of tracked keywords, even at the smallest plan.

How many sites can I track? What are “Campaigns”?Top

The number of sites you can track depends on the plan chosen. In general, you can think of a Campaign as one site. However, if you have multiple sites that all share the same keywords, you can add additional sites as competitors instead of creating separate campaigns for them.

For example, the Starter plan allows up to 5 simultaneous campaigns, and the Enterprise plan allows unlimited campaigns.

What does “Pages Crawled” mean?Top

Dragon Metrics will crawl your site twice a month to look for common SEO issues, and to provide analysis on your site’s content. “Pages Crawled” refers to the number of URLs that we will crawl in total each time. (e.g. if the limit is 50,000, this means that we will crawl 50,000 URLs once earlier in the month, and then 50,000 URLs again later in the month). Some plans have a limit on the number of URLs you can crawl per campaign in addition to the total number of URLs crawled over all campaigns.

Please note that redirected URLs, or URLs blocked by robots.txt do not count towards this quota.

What is “Backlink Queries”?Top

Each link reported in the Link Manager or Link Research areas costs 1 backlink query credit. So if you checked the backlinks on a site that had 5,000 backlinks, it would cost 5,000 credits. This number is fully replenished on the first day of the month.

What does “Baidu Research Queries / Results / Result Exports” mean?Top

All three of these features refer to the Baidu Research tool in Research mode. Unlike Campaign mode, this area is not limited by the number of keywords. You have instant access to millions of keyword rankings and sites on Baidu. Access is instead limited based on 3 metrics:

  • Queries – The number of unique domain or keyword searches you may make each day. For example, if you search for “apple.com” and view the organic ranking keywords, then the competitor report, then the top URLs report, this still only counts as one query for the day. Later if you search for “apple.com” again in the same day, you will also not use another query. However, if you made a query for “microsoft.com” or the keyword “apple”, these would cost 1 query apiece. Queries are replenished at midnight each day.
  • Results – This is the number of rows shown in each report table. For example, if we have 20,000 keywords ranking for a domain, but the result limit is “10,000 / report”, we will show summary data at the top of the page, but will only display the details for the top 10,000 keywords in the table. After this, results will not be displayed.
  • Result Exports – The number of rows that can be exported in one month. A “row” can mean different things depending on the report exported. For example, when exporting keyword rankings, a row means one keyword or URL. When exporting the competitors report, one row means one competitor. Export credits are replenished on the first day of each month.

What are API Credits?Top

Each row returned by an API call costs 1 credit. For example, if you request keyword rankings for 25 keywords, it will costs 25 credits. Credits are replenished at the beginning of each month.

In general, you will not need to worry about API credits, as each plan comes with more than enough credits to collect all the data in your account as soon as it’s available. For example, the Standard plan comes with 50,000 API credits, and 3,000 keywords tracked once a week. Therefore, to collect this data from the API, you will only need 12,900 credits (3,000 keywords * 4.3 weeks per month). This is much less than the amount given, so as long as you save the data properly after making the request, you will never run into these limits.

Trials

What’s included in the 30-day free trial?Top

30-day free trial accounts offer every feature available in paid subscriptions. They even come with daily rank tracking. The only difference between the trial and paid account is the number of credits available for each feature. For example, while the Starter account comes with 500 keyword credits, the trial account comes with 200.

Do you offer a free trial of the platform?Top

Yes, we offer a 30-day free trial of the software. No credit card or commitment is required, and trial accounts come with access to all features available in paid subscriptions. Try it for yourself now!

Why do you require a company email to sign up for a trial account? Why can’t I use my Gmail account?Top

We offer free 30-day trials without the need for credit card, payment details, or any sort of obligation. We try to ask as little information about you as possible. The only thing we do ask is for your real company email address to prevent against fraud and abuse. We think that’s a pretty fair deal. We won’t spam you or oversell you. We just need to make sure you are who you say you are.

If you want to use your Gmail/Yahoo mail/Hotmail/etc. email address with your Dragon Metrics account, you can still do so. Sign up for the trial with your company email address, then you can change it in your profile after completing the setup process.

If you don’t have a company email address for some reason, but still want to sign up for a trial. Contact us and we’ll get you taken care of.

How do I cancel my trial account?Top

If at the end of your 30-day trial you decide not to continue with a paid subscription, there’s nothing more that you need to do. Trials will automatically expire after 30 days, and you will not be billed. (No credit is required, and there’s no obligation when signing up for a trial). If you do enjoy the software and want to get started, contact us and we’ll get you taken care of.

Rank Tracking

Which search engines, countries, and languages do you support?Top

Dragon Metrics currently supports 10 search engines in just about every country and language on both desktop and mobile devices.

This includes Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, 360 Search (aka Haosou or so.com), Yandex, Naver, Seznam, and Sogou. See the complete list of supported countries and languages.

How often is ranking data updated?Top

Ranking data is updated either daily or weekly, depending on the plan selected. All trial accounts come with daily ranking updates. Plans listed by default on the pricing page are weekly updates. For pricing on daily ranking updates, please contact us.

Can I track rankings on mobile devices?Top

Yes, you can track rankings on both desktop and mobile devices.

Can I track universal results such as local, images, or news results?Top

Yes! We track over 25 universal results / SERP features. See the full list.

Can I track ranking in a specific city, postal code, or neighborhood?Top

Yes! We support over 50,000 locales at the city, postal code, or neighborhood level.

Reporting

Can I create white-labeled reports with Dragon Metrics?Top

Yes. You can choose from 50 different reporting modules, each one highly configurable. You can even add external data, such as notes, analysis, images, charts, links, etc. Then you can upload your logo, and view your white-labeled report on a custom white-labeled domain or export to PDF. Can I export Dragon Metrics data? What formats are available?Top

Yes, there are several ways to export Dragon Metrics data to be used in your own reports:

  1. PDF– Create beautiful white-labeled PDF reports using our report builder
  2. Excel– Export any page’s data to Excel by clicking the “Export to Excel” button above the data table
  3. API– A developer API is available to programmatically extract your reporting data to be used for internal dashboards, apps, and more.

Why aren’t CSV file exports available?Top

Dragon Metrics is a very international tool, and many of our users use non-latin characters in their data. The natural step for many is to bring these CSV files into Excel. However, Excel does not handle non-latin characters in CSV files very well, and this leads to many issues. To avoid this issue, we use Excel files for data exports.

If you do not have Excel or are having trouble opening these files, we recommend opening them using Google Sheets. Since minimal formatting is used, they should be 100% compatible.

How long does it take to get set up using Dragon Metrics? Do you provide training?Top

We pride ourselves in making Dragon Metrics incredibly easy-to-use, and it can take as short as 5 minutes to get set up using Dragon Metrics.

That being said, with the huge amount of features available, it may take some time to take full advantage of everything the software has to offer. If you need some help getting started, we’re happy to provide unlimited personalized training sessions or demos to you and your team. Just get in touch, and we’ll get it set up.

What is the difference between the different support packages?Top

Whenever possible, Dragon Metrics offers our top tier of support to users of all plans. We want to make sure everyone gets the most out of the software as possible. In practice, users of any plan typically enjoy average response times of less than 5 minutes.

However, in times when our support team is busier than normal, we may need to temporarily enforce the following minimum support level guarantees.

  • Basic – Knowledge base only
  • Basic+ – In-app chat only. Up to 48 hour response time.
  • Standard – In-app chat, email, and phone. Up to 24 hour response time. Up to 3 online training sessions.
  • Advanced – In-app chat, email, and phone. Up to 12 hour response time. Unlimited online training sessions.

International

I’m not interested in China or Asia. Is Dragon Metrics right for me?Top

Absolutely. Dragon Metrics has special features just for China and Asia, but this is simply in addition to our hundreds of tools built for all search engines. Actually the majority of Dragon Metrics users don’t have anything to do with China or Asia!

Which languages are available in the user interface?Top

Both English and Simplified Chinese are available in the user interface.

Does Dragon Metrics support double-byte characters, such as Chinese, Korean, or Japanese?Top

Yes, Dragon Metrics fully supports double-byte characters required for many Asian languages.

Which languages are available for support?Top

We offer support in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese in all channels.
